The great thing about electric car charging at home is that it’s easy to do. There are different home car charging solutions that you can use depending on what suits you best, so you can be sure you’re always ready to hit the road.
HOME CHARGING OPTIONS.
HOUSEHOLD PLUG.
You don’t actually need any complex installation or unit to charge at home.
Simply use the standard charging cable and adapter included with your electric MINI to plug into any conventional household 230-volt power socket (Type G).
2.5 hours of slow charging will be enough for your next commute of up to 50 km.
A whole night using the household plug will be enough on average to give you several days of city driving.
FASTER CHARGING WITH A HOME CHARGER.
A PodPoint home charger offers you a convenient, faster alternative to the standard mains supply, if you want to charge your EV regularly at home.
MORE POWER:
A dedicated, 3-phase 11 kW home charger connection will generally give you up to 3-times faster charging time. So your all-electric MINI can be fully charged within around 3.5 hours.
SAFETY FIRST:
A home charger is specifically designed with overheating protection and a fault circuit breaker to allow for a constant high load.
CONVENIENCE:
There is nowhere more convenient to charge your car than those places you spend most time during the day or overnight. CHARGING CABLES.
Electric MINI comes with two AC charging cables as standard. The first cable fits a home wall socket and uses the standard AC power supply. It’s perfect for occasional charging, or when your electric MINI is resting overnight. The second charging cable is designed to work with a Homecharge unit or public charging point, where the AC power supply is increased. Allowing you to charge an electric MINI much quicker at home and when you’re out and about.
MINI CONNECTED.
With the MINI Connected app, you can control many of the electric MINI functions through your phone. Check the range and top up your charging. Use maps and real time traffic information to plan and schedule journeys. You can even set the air con to the perfect temperature remotely.
